 |
5 French university students will stay in Chigasaki from June 29th to July
27th this year. A welcoming party for the Homestay group was organised
by the IAC on July 5th at the Chisou restaurant in the Chigisaki Citizens
Cultural Innstitute.

Family members of the Host Family Group, Sunday Japanese classroom teacher,
members of the Japanese Culture Association and French university students
attended the Welcoming Party.
The party began at 6:30pm with moderator Mr. F, leader of the Homestay
Group. Then Chairperson Mr. I provided welcome greeting and introduced the host family and the
French university students.
Following a toast from Mr. M, host family representative, the French student enjoyed wine, beer and a variety of Japanese food. |

During the middle of the party, some French students played guitar while
we danced. Later, two members of the Board of Shonan Shofu Fujisawa, played
Tsugaru shamisen.
French university students participated in the performance of Japanese drums, providing a lively concert. The students also danced making for an exciting venue. One French student also learned to play the shamisen . |

| At the end of the party, the 5 French students sang a song and were given
gifts of T-shirts from the IAC. The Welcoming Party ended at 8:30pm.. |
