Bon Dance Club is a new club just created in November 2021.
“Bon Dance” is a dance loved by Hawaiian people which has its roots in Japanese folk dance. Many Bon Dance events and big festivals are held in Hawaii. Chigasaki has a sister town relationship with Hawaii. We want people in Chigasaki to learn about this relationship by introducing a Bon Dance number called “Hawaii Ondo”.

We are planning to join a tour to Honolulu that Chigasaki city hosted for the citizens. We want to enjoy Bon Dance with Hawaiian people and deepen our friendship.
Aka-Tombo
A famous Japanese song “Aka-Tombo” or red dragonfly was composed by a great composer Kohsaku Yamada when he was living in Chigasaki. Tomomi Shimizu, a musician living in Chigasaki, arranged this song and made a Bon Dance number “Aka-Tombo Ondo”. We are planning to introduce it to Hawaii, and broaden the circle of our friendship.
