International Association of Chigasaki (IAC) will hold the following two events to support of Ukraine in October at Chigasaki Civic Hall.

October 1st (Sat.), Ukraine Support Activist Interactive session and Concert

(Venue:Chigasaki Civic Hall 1F Mini-Hall)
We will hold an event to support Ukrainian refugees, by inviting Prof. Daniel Dolan, a Ukrainian support activist (living in Chigasaki City), people from Ukraine who came to Chigasaki for evacuation, and Katerina, a Bandura performer.
All admission fees will be donated to the Embassy of Ukraine in Japan. Donations at the venue will be donated to those who have evacuated to Chigasaki from Ukraine.

There will be two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon.
 Morning session: 10:00 a.m. ~12:00 p.m. (Doors open at 9:40 a.m.)
 Afternoon session: 2:00 p.m. ~4:00 p.m. (Doors open at 1:40 p.m.)

—Program—
Part I: Chigasaki-based American Daniel Dolan, Ph.D.will give a lecture on his support activities for displaced people in Ukraine. And talk session by people from Ukraine who came to Chigasaki for evacuation (50 min.).
Break: 10 min.
Part 2: Bandura performance and singing by Kateryna (60 min.)

In addition, with the cooperation of “Earth Plaza”, we will exhibit the prize-winning paintings of Ukrainian children at the Kanagawa Biennial World Children’s Art Exhibition.

Admission: Each session ¥1,000

October 16th (Sun.) Ukraine Humanitarian Aid Traditional Crafts Exhibition & Talk Event

(Venue: Chigasaki Civic Hall 1F Exhibition Room)
A charity event, inviting Ms. Tetyana Solotska, a traditional Ukrainian craftswoman, and her family. There will be an exhibit of Ukrainian Easter eggs “Pysanky” and embroidery, as well as photographs of the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
In between the exhibit, Ms. Solotska will demonstrate how to make Pysanky, and her family will give a talk session about Ukrainian culture, history, and current situation.

Exhibition: 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (free to come and go)
About 300 Pysanky, 30 embroidered works, and 100 photographs
Demonstration of Pysanky production:
 (1) 10:30 a.m. -11:00a.m.  (2) 2:30 p.m. – 3:00 p.m.
Talk session:
 (1) 11:00 a.m. -12:00 p.m. (2)3:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.  (including Q&A session)
Capacity of 80 people for each session
 *Pre-registration is required for Talk Session only.

Admission free
A donation box will be set up at the venue. All donations will be given to “Japanese-Ukrainian association of friendship Kraiany (NPO Kraiany)” and will be used for humanitarian aid in Ukraine.
